How to Run Android Apps Natively on Windows 11

Ever since the launch of Windows 11, one feature that buzzed a lot was the ability to run Android apps natively on Windows 11. When the OS was launched, this feature was not available. But if you are U.S. based, then you can now install Android apps natively on Windows 11. So, let’s explore all the details about how to run Android apps on Windows 11.

Steps to Install and Run Android Apps

In order to run Android apps on Windows 11, you need to access them from Amazon Appstore. Follow the below steps to install and run Android apps:

  1. Open Microsoft Store and search for any Android app, like “Game of Kings”. Click on the app and then click “Get from Amazon Appstore”.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up Amazon Appstore and download Windows Subsystem for Android. Once done, you have to restart your PC.
  3. After restarting, the Windows will finish the installation process of the Windows Subsystem for Android. Afterward, it will ask you to either sign in or create a new Amazon account.
  4. From the Amazon Appstore, you can now access the different Android apps and games you can install natively on Windows 11. Currently, the number of apps is limited, but the list will keep increasing gradually.

This way, you can access and download Android apps to your Windows. You can first view the apps from Microsoft Store and then go to Amazon Appstore to download the apps or you can directly search the apps on Amazon Appstore.

Android App Response on Windows 11

Once the app is installed on your Windows 11, you can pin it to the start menu, taskbar, desktop, or any place you want. When you launch the app, you can adjust its window size and even use other programs in parallel.

Android App Resource Usage

Most of the Android emulators for Windows consume a lot of resources to run Android apps. But with the direct installation of Android apps in Windows, the resource usage has declined significantly. Windows Subsystem for Android

Windows Subsystem for Android is a program installed when you set up your Windows for Android apps installation. You can access it by searching “Windows Subsystem for Android” from the start menu. When you launch it, you see a settings page that shows all the files stored by Android apps in this virtualized environment. Moreover, you can set other settings provided there to adjust your Android app usage experience as you want.
